You can remove stains from carpeting and upholstery by just rinse them with a one cup clean ammonia solution in ½ (two liters) gallon warm water.

Vinegar is like a superhero for stain removal, which can remove a variety of common stains. Here are some ways to use vinegar as stain removal.
- Gently rub your carpet stains with the mixture of 2 tablespoons salt dissolved in a ½ cup with white vinegar. Let the solution dry and then use a vacuum.
- For longer stains, add 2 tablespoons borax to the mixture and use in the same way as mentioned above.
- For spilled paint, you can use a mixture of 1 ½ teaspoons vinegar, 1 ½ teaspoons laundry detergent, with two cups water; sponge away the paint before it sets in and harm your carpet.
- You can make the mixture of 1-tablespoon laundry detergent with 1 ½ tablespoon white vinegar and combine with two cups of water to remove fruit and fruit juice stains.
Sometimes spilling a little juice on the carpet by someone is enough to give a stain, so make it “all better” with some shaving cream on the spot. Mark the stain, pat it with a wet sponge, spray some shaving cream on it, and then wipe it with a damp sponge. It will also work well on grease and oil stains.
